WHY DID I STARTED BLOGGING?

The bottom line is to burst the myth.

So, it all started at the age of 15, when I started my fitness journey. I always had in mind that after I finished my secondary examination, I would pay heed to my health, considering the fact I’ve always been underweight and skinny. But I wasn’t sure whether to join the gym because it meant spending excessive money without assurity and not to mention wastage of my valuable time. It would mean compromising on my studies which I couldn’t afford. I was in high school(I still am), when corona broke out, which temporarily terminated schools. Well, I am not so proud to say this, but thanks to covid-19, I got plenty of time to research fitness and what goes best for my body. And I decided to start home gyming. It was certainly not an easy road to reach the kind of fit that I am today or the day after next. Because I learned that fitness is not a one-day process, it’s not a one-month process, not even a one-year process. It’s a lifestyle that you commit to for the rest of your life.

As I stepped foot in this new world of wellness, I encountered not only mind-boggling realities but also the myths associated with it. It staunched me and irritated me that people live a hell of a life just because they are unaware. I wanted to spread awareness and the knowledge that I had gathered through my research and personal experience. I desperately felt the urge to help people. And that’s what I did. “Charity starts at home,” they say. So, I started spreading the word among my friends, cousins, and family. Some of them listened; others didn’t. Of course, who would listen to a 16-year-old who herself is new to this topic? Considering, I don’t have any certificates on this subject either.

So, I understood that I needed a platform where I could establish myself as “THE MYTH BROKER.” (Okay, I agree it wasn’t that dramatic)Meanwhile, I continued with my research.

It was at this time when I had a brainstorming idea of blogging. And I think it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It has been over a year now since I started blogging on Medium. Medium gave me the audience I needed and the support I adore. My motto is to encourage you to take up fitness and conduct research for the same by yourself and for yourself. Because if your goal is to lead a healthy lifestyle and get a good physique, you definitely don’t need a fitness trainer or spend thousands of rupees on various expensive fitness programs.

All I want to say is that this journey has just started. We have so far to go. It’s definitely is not going to be easy, but we have got each other.

It upsets me when I see people at the age of 35 or 40 suffering from serious diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Even if the person is completely healthy, they suffer from thinking about the problems that the future might bring to them. You were given your body to make it work for you and not become a slave of the same.

On this note, I would like to thank those who supported me through the thick and the thins. Love you all. Thank you for reading.
